Getting started

  • How much do hair extensions cost in London?

Hair extensions in London typically cost £180–£1,100 depending on method and volume. Tape-ins: £250–£550. Keratin bonds: £400–£1,100. See our full pricing page.

  • How do I book a consultation with Mădălina & Cornelia?

WhatsApp us or call. We're available 7 days a week, 9am–9pm. Consultations are free.

  • Do you offer free consultations?

Yes, every new client starts with a free 15–20 minute consultation, either in person at our Dagenham studio or remotely via WhatsApp with photos.

  • How long is a consultation?

15–20 minutes in person. Remote WhatsApp consultations can be quicker — just send 3–4 photos of your hair (front, sides, back) and we can recommend a method and guide price.

  • Where are you based?

Our studio is in Dagenham, RM8 3JX. Easy parking, 15 minutes from Barking, 20 minutes from Romford.

  • Do you do mobile appointments (come to my home)?

Not currently. All fittings happen at our Dagenham studio where we have proper lighting and equipment for consistent results.

Methods compared

  • What's the difference between keratin bonds and tape-ins?

Keratin bonds are individual strands heat-fused to your hair; tape-ins are pre-taped wefts applied close to the root. Different methods for different hair types and lifestyles — we help you choose at your free consultation.

  • Which method is best for fine hair?

Keratin bonds — small individual bonds are less visible on fine hair and distribute weight evenly.

  • Which method lasts longest?

Keratin bonds last 3–6 months before refit. Tape-ins are maintained every 6–8 weeks but the hair itself can be reused for 9–12 months.

  • Which method is best for short hair?

Keratin bonds work for shorter hair because each bond is so small. Tape-ins require enough hair to hide the panels.

  • Can I switch from tape-ins to keratin bonds?

Yes, after your hair recovers from the previous method (4–8 weeks). We assess at consultation.

  • What are nano ring extensions?

Nano rings are similar to tape-ins — small wefts attached with a tiny ring rather than adhesive. We don't currently fit nano rings but can refer you to a specialist.

  • What's a half head vs full head?

A half head covers the back and sides (good for volume and subtle length). A full head covers the entire head including the top and crown (best for major length changes).

Keratin Bond

  • How long do keratin bond extensions last?

Keratin bond extensions typically last 9 - 18 months with proper aftercare. We recommend a maintenance appointment every 3 months to keep them looking their best and to protect your natural hair.

  • Can I colour my hair with bonds in?

We recommend colouring before application. After that, your stylist can colour your natural hair without touching the bonds.

  • Are keratin bonds visible?

When correctly applied and matched, bonds are very small and discreet — most people cannot tell you have them.

  • How do I maintain keratin bonds?

Brush from mid-lengths down, use sulphate-free products, avoid heavy oils near the bonds, and book maintenance as advised.

Tape-In

  • How long do tape-in extensions last?

Tape-in extensions need moving up every 6–8 weeks as your natural hair grows. The wefts themselves are reusable for up to 3 applications with proper care, making them a cost-effective long-term option.

  • Can tape-ins be reused?

Yes — we remove, re-tape, and reapply the same hair each maintenance visit. Quality hair can last through several refits.

  • Are tape-ins heavy?

No. Modern tape-ins are very lightweight and lie flat against the head, making them comfortable for everyday wear.

  • Can I shower with tape-ins?

Yes, but avoid conditioner on the bonds and brush gently from mid-lengths down. We give full aftercare at your appointment.

Aftercare & longevity

  • What aftercare do I need to follow?

We recommend sulphate-free shampoo, a leave-in conditioner, and a heat protectant before styling. Brush gently from roots to tips using a loop brush, and avoid applying oils or conditioners directly to the bonds or tape attachments.

  • How do I wash hair with extensions?

Every 2–3 days with sulphate-free shampoo. Avoid conditioner near the bonds or tape panels. We give you a written aftercare guide at your appointment.

  • Can I swim with extensions?

Yes, rinse with fresh water immediately after swimming, and use a leave-in conditioner from mid-lengths down.

  • Can I colour my hair with extensions in?

Your natural hair can be coloured. The extension hair cannot be lightened. For highlights, colour your natural hair before application.

  • How often do I need a maintenance appointment?

Tape-ins: every 6–8 weeks. Keratin bonds: removal and refit at 3–6 months. Don't leave it longer or the extensions can mat and damage your natural hair.

Safety & suitability

  • Will hair extensions damage my natural hair?

When applied and maintained by a certified specialist, no. The biggest cause of damage is poor application or skipping maintenance appointments — we assess your hair beforehand and won't fit if extensions aren't suitable.

  • Do you fit extensions for Afro-Caribbean hair?

Yes, but the method depends on your hair texture. Tape-ins can work well for tightly-coiled hair; we'll advise at consultation.

  • Can I get extensions during pregnancy?

Yes — many clients fit extensions during pregnancy for the confidence boost. Tape-ins are usually preferred because they're easier to remove quickly if needed.

  • Can I get extensions if I have a sensitive scalp?

Possibly. Tape-ins are usually gentler on sensitive scalps. We'll assess at consultation.

  • What's the minimum natural hair length for extensions?

Ideally 4 inches (10cm) — enough to attach bonds or tape without showing the join. Shorter hair can sometimes work with keratin bonds.

Pricing

  • How much do hair extensions cost?

Prices vary depending on the method, the amount of hair needed, and the length you're going for. Keratin bonds start from £350 and tape-ins from £250. We provide a detailed quote during your free consultation after assessing your hair.

  • Why don't you publish exact prices online?

We do — see the price table on our prices page. Final pricing depends on the specific hair, length, and volume you need, so we give you a personalised quote at your free consultation. The ranges listed are realistic for typical fittings.

  • Do you charge for consultation?

No, consultations are free and take 15–20 minutes. If you want to bring photos via WhatsApp first, we can give you a guide price remotely.

  • Do you offer payment plans?

No, we don not offer payments plans.

  • Do you charge for travel?

No — your quote includes everything. The only extras are hair products we recommend for aftercare (optional).

  • What's included in the price?

Hair, application, full aftercare guidance, and a written aftercare sheet. Maintenance appointments are quoted separately.

Occasions

  • How long before my wedding should I get extensions?

For keratin bonds, 4–6 weeks before (gives you time to wash, style, and get a trial). For tape-ins, 1–2 weeks before.

  • Do you do extensions for prom or graduation?

Yes, many of our clients are 16–25 booking for prom, graduation, 21st birthdays. Tape-ins are popular for one-off events.

  • Can extensions be removed after one event?

Yes — both methods can be professionally removed within 24–48 hours if needed. Tape-ins are quickest to remove.

General

  • Will extensions damage my natural hair?

When applied correctly and cared for properly, extensions should not damage your natural hair. We carry out a thorough hair health assessment before every application and will always advise against extensions if your hair isn't in a suitable condition.

  • Do I need a consultation before my appointment?

Yes, we always start with a free consultation to assess your hair type, discuss your goals, and recommend the best extension method. This ensures we get the colour match and application just right.

  • Are Mădălina and Cornelia sisters?

Yes, biological sisters. They run Sisters' Hair Extensions together.

  • How long have you been fitting extensions?

Mădălina has been fitting extensions professionally for over 8 years, with formal training in keratin bond and tape-in techniques. Cornelia joined the practice 5 years ago.

  • Do you both fit every client?

We split consultations and fittings based on the method — Mădălina focuses on keratin bonds, Cornelia on tape-ins. We share the consultation step so you meet both of us.
